CEO and Founder Tanya Egerton has dedicated her career to empowering First Nations communities. Under her leadership, the Remote OpShop Project has positively impacted over 20,000 people in some of Australia’s most isolated regions.

Meet Tanya
Tanya Egerton is the CEO and Founder of the Remote OpShop Project. With over a decade of experience living and working in remote Australia, Tanya has dedicated her career to supporting the economic and social empowerment of First Nations communities.
Founded in 2016, the Remote OpShop Project now partners with over 30 remote First Nations communities, developing opshops that provide essential goods, create employment opportunities, and promote cultural preservation. Under Tanya’s leadership, the project has positively impacted more than 20,000 people, fostering sustainable growth, circular economy practices, and resilience in some of Australia’s most isolated regions.
A passionate advocate for community-led solutions, Tanya’s work is reshaping how economic development is approached in remote areas, ensuring First Nations voices are centred in the process.
Tanya is the National Winner of the 2024 AgriFutures Rural Women's Award, recognised for her leadership and contribution to rural and remote Australia, and is a 2023 and 2024 AMP Tomorrow Maker, supporting innovative projects that create positive social impact.
